How to streamline reseller processes
TicketingHub supports two reseller payment models: Commission and Wholesale. Choose the model based on who collects the customer’s payment.
Choose carefully: The Payment Model cannot be changed after you create the reseller. If you select the wrong model, create a new reseller with the correct one.
Commission: you collect the customer’s payment
Use Commission when the customer pays you through your booking widget and you pay the reseller their agreed commission later.
- Go to Resellers → New Reseller.
- Enter the reseller’s details.
- Set Payment Model to Commission.
- Enter a unique Referral Code.
- Enter the agreed Commission Percentage.
- Save the reseller.
Add the referral code to the URL of a page that contains your TicketingHub widget:
https://www.yourwebsite.com/book?th-reseller-ref=PARTNERCODEShare the complete URL with the reseller. The th-reseller-ref value must match the reseller’s Referral Code. Bookings made after a customer follows this link are attributed to that reseller, so you can report on sales and calculate commission.
If you need to assign a widget directly to a commission reseller, use a Legacy Widget under Widgets → Legacy Widgets. See Creating a reseller widget.
Wholesale: the reseller collects the customer’s payment
Use Wholesale when the reseller charges the customer and owes you the agreed net amount.
- Go to Resellers → New Reseller.
- Enter the reseller’s name, email address, currency and login details.
- Set Payment Model to Wholesale.
- Add a credit limit and invoice schedule if required.
- Choose whether the reseller can cancel channel orders.
- Save the reseller.
Wholesale resellers can book on credit through a Reseller Portal. This layout is available only in a Legacy Widget. Go to Widgets → Legacy Widgets, create or open the Legacy Widget, then select Look and Feel → Context → Reseller Portal and publish the changes. Give the reseller the portal URL and their login details. The reseller can then create bookings on credit and supply tickets to customers; you invoice the reseller according to the agreed schedule.
Review the reseller’s credit and invoices regularly so that new bookings stay within the agreed terms.
Online travel agencies
Online travel agencies such as Viator, GetYourGuide, Airbnb and Rezdy use the Wholesale payment model because they collect payment from the customer. Creating or selecting an OTA reseller does not complete the connection by itself. Follow the partner’s onboarding and product-mapping process rather than creating a commission referral link. For Viator, see How to connect TicketingHub to Viator. For other OTAs, see How to connect to OTAs.
