How to add a waiting list

Overview

TicketingHub transforms waiting lists into an engaging tool for gauging customer interest in unavailable dates. This feature helps businesses identify which tour dates are most in demand, allowing them to prioritise popular offerings. One client reportedly increased annual revenue after discovering high demand for Thursday tours through their waiting list.

Activating the waiting list

Steps to enable it:

  1. Click on the product
  2. Click on Settings
  3. Tick “Waiting lists” to enable it
  4. (Optional) Add a custom URL to redirect customers to your own waiting list, such as a Google Form
  5. Click Update

If you leave the custom URL field blank, customers will be directed to TicketingHub’s built-in waiting list. Entering a URL redirects them to your own external list instead.

If you don’t see the “Waiting lists” setting, it may need to be enabled on your account — please contact TicketingHub support.

Customer experience

Customers see a prompt stating: “No suitable date? Join the waiting list!” at the bottom of the booking widget. (This message can be customised via translation files.)

Upon joining, customers are directed to a dedicated waiting list page where they can:

  • Select multiple preferred dates
  • Enter their contact information

Supplier management

To access waiting list customers:

  1. Click on Customers
  2. Click on Waitlist
  3. View your waiting list customers

Management tools:

Use the Broadcast Message function to notify waiting list customers of new availability, updates or other relevant information via SMS or email. According to TicketingHub, “SMS has 500% better open rate than email.”
