How to connect to OTAs such as Get Your Guide via API
Want to connect your TicketingHub account to Get Your Guide without pulling your hair out? You’re in the right place. This guide is for tour and activity operators who are ready to streamline bookings, reach more customers and eliminate manual work.
With a direct API connection, your availability, ticket types and bookings stay in sync, so there is no need to update information in two places. Whether you are setting this up for the first time or updating an existing connection, we will guide you through it step by step. Let’s get started!
Steps to connect to OTAs such as Get Your Guide via API
1. Map your tiers (ticket types)
To ensure your tickets display correctly on Get Your Guide (GYG), you need to map your ticket tiers (such as Adult, Child and so on) in TicketingHub.
- Go to your Dashboard, then select your Product.
- On the Tickets tab, find the ticket tier you want to edit.
- Click the three dots beside it, then click Edit.
- Go to the Advanced section.
- Scroll to Custom OTA Mapping.
- Select the matching Ticket Type (for example, Adult, Child and so on).
- Click Update Ticket to save your changes.
If two tickets on a product match the same OTA ticket type, one through its Type and the other through Custom OTA Mapping, OTAs book the ticket with the Custom OTA Mapping.
2. Create a reseller profile for Get Your Guide
Next, add Get Your Guide as a reseller in your TicketingHub account. This allows TicketingHub to recognise and track bookings from GYG.
- From the Dashboard, go to Resellers.
- Click New Reseller.
- Complete the required fields:
- Name: Get Your Guide
- Payment Model: Wholesale
- Email: (Add your GYG contact email)
- Password: (Optional)
- Currency: Select $, £, or another currency as needed
- Online Travel Agent (OTA): Select Get Your Guide
- Click Create Reseller to save.

3. Locate your product ID
Your Product ID links your tour on TicketingHub to its listing on GYG.
- Open the Product you want to connect in your Dashboard.
- Look at the URL in your browser—it should look like this:
https://dashboard.ticketinghub.com/supplier/products/XXXXXXXX/inventory
- Copy the string of letters and numbers between
/products/and/inventory—that is your Product ID. - Paste this into your GYG account when setting up the integration.
Mission API: accomplished
And just like that, you’re connected! With your tiers mapped, reseller set up and Product ID added, you’re ready to go. Bookings will start syncing, your calendar will stay up to date, and manual work? Consider it cancelled. Need help? Don’t be shy—get in touch and we’re just a message away!
Cancelling a GYG booking
GYG cancellations only sync one way: from GYG to TicketingHub.
- Cancelling on GYG — automatically cancels the booking in TicketingHub
- Cancelling in TicketingHub — does not cancel the booking on GYG
Always cancel GYG bookings directly in the GetYourGuide Supplier Portal. Once cancelled there, the booking will automatically be removed from TicketingHub.
Do not cancel GYG bookings only inside TicketingHub—the customer’s booking on GYG will remain active.
