How to Unscan Tickets in TicketingHub POS

Scanned the wrong ticket? Checked a guest in before they were ready? Unscanning removes a check-in so the ticket counts as unused again, and can be scanned once more later.

Unscanning is turned off until an administrator enables it, and it works whether or not the device has a connection.

Enable Unscanning

An administrator or manager must switch the feature on in the TicketingHub dashboard:

  1. Go to Settings → POS Settings.
  2. Under Allow users to unscan tickets, select Enabled.
  3. Select Update.

Once enabled, the unscan options appear in TicketingHub POS for everyone using that account.

Important: Devices already signed in to POS won’t pick the change up straight away. On each device, sign out and sign back in, and the unscan options will appear.

Unscan a Ticket or a Booking

Open the booking the same way you would to check a guest in — scan the QR code, or find the booking on the Manifest.

  • Select Unscan THIS Ticket to remove the most recent scan from a single ticket.
  • Select Unscan ALL Tickets to remove every scan on the booking at once.

You’ll be asked to confirm, and the confirmation tells you how many scans are about to be removed. The tickets can be scanned again afterwards.

These buttons correct the shared record, so they can remove a scan made on any device — useful when a colleague checked someone in by mistake and has since gone home.

Unscan Everything One Device Scanned

If a device has been checking in the wrong session — the wrong time slot, or the wrong product — you can reverse its whole batch rather than reopening bookings one at a time.

  1. Open the Manifest tab and choose the date.
  2. Select the undo icon beside the date.
  3. Pick a product and time from the list.
  4. Confirm the number of scans shown.

The list is grouped by time and product, just like the Manifest, and counts only the scans made on the device you are holding. Scans made on other devices are left alone.

The icon only appears when that device has scanned something for the date you’re looking at, so if nothing is there, nothing needs undoing.

Unscan Offline

Everything above works without a connection. Scans and unscans are queued on the device and sent as soon as it is back online.

If you scan a QR code while offline and the device has never seen that booking, POS shows you what it can read from the code itself. Alongside Scan Offline you’ll also find Unscan Offline, which queues the reversal in the same way.

Good to Know

  • Unscanning a ticket frees it to be scanned again. Any scan limit or minimum interval you have set on the product still applies.
  • Guest counts on the Manifest always reflect unscans immediately, including ones still waiting to be sent.
  • Both the check-in and its reversal are recorded against the user who performed them.
