How to Create Tickets

Tickets are the choices customers buy for a product, such as Adult, Child, Senior, or Family. Create a separate ticket when the price, eligibility, or availability rules need to differ.

Create a Ticket

  1. Open Products and select the product.
  2. Go to Tickets.
  3. Select New Ticket.
  4. Enter the ticket name, price, and a clear customer-facing description.
  5. Review any other settings needed for that ticket.
  6. Select Create Ticket to save.

Use names customers can understand without extra explanation. If a ticket has an age limit or another condition, include it in the description.

Review Advanced Settings

Edit a ticket and open Advanced Settings when you need ticket-specific limits or timing.

The ticket-level Notice controls how long before an event that ticket type becomes unavailable. It is separate from the product-wide cutoffs under Product → Settings → Ticket Availability Cutoff, which provide the default timing when a ticket has no notice of its own. See ticket cut-off times.

TicketingHub does not provide an Early Bird ticket preset. To offer one, create and price a separate ticket, then use its availability settings to stop selling it at the required time. See early-bird, seasonal, and group pricing.

Create Ticket Categories

Ticket categories group and price existing tickets for different versions of the same product, such as a standard tour and a private tour. They are different from the product category selected when creating a product.

  1. Go to Product → Tickets → Ticket Categories.
  2. Select New Category.
  3. Enter a name and an optional customer-facing description.
  4. Add a duration if that setting is available and this category runs for a different length of time.
  5. Select Save Ticket Category.
  6. In the Pricing Table, set the price, availability, visibility, and limits for each ticket type.

Use Manage beside a category to reopen its pricing table. A category name such as Private Tour does not enforce a group size by itself; set the relevant ticket limits and prices in the pricing table.

Set Seasonal Prices

To vary ticket prices by availability season, weekday, or time:

  1. Go to Product → Tickets → Seasonal Pricing.
  2. Choose the ticket and season.
  3. Edit the relevant prices.
  4. Save the changes.

Seasonal pricing changes prices for event dates; it does not apply a discount based on how early the customer books.

Add Optional Items

Extras are add-ons such as meals, equipment hire, or souvenirs. Create them in the Extras section under Product → Tickets, then select them in your widget. Follow how to add extras and add-ons.

After setup, make a test selection in your customer booking widget to confirm each ticket has the correct name, price, and availability.
